Joe Myers Ford's 2016 Mustang Review and Research
Fully redesigned last year, the Ford Mustang continues to reinvent itself as a modern pony car with all the trappings of its muscle car past. This model year, the 2016 Mustang is receiving a few technology and performance updates that have many 2016 Ford Mustang reviews calling it one of the best versions of the sports car yet.
Available in two body styles and five trim levels, the Ford Mustang can be customized to fit any drivers' lifestyle, whether you want a fun coupe for lazy Sunday driving or a track-ready speed demon. The base V6 trim on the 2016 Ford Mustang in Houston starts things off with an impressive roaster of standard features, including 17-inch alloy wheels, LED taillights, a rearview camera and Bluetooth connectivity.
The next-level EcoBoost model adds an aluminum dashboard trim, an unique wheel design and active noise cancellation to the Mustang, while the EcoBoost Premium gets aluminum and chrome interior accents, ambient interior lighting, Ford's new SYNC 3 infotainment system and a 9-speaker sound system.
For those who want the most power out of the pony car, Ford offers three terrific GT versions of the Mustang, including the all-new Shelby GT350R. Looking first at the base Mustang GT, this model adds upgraded brakes, an electronic line-lock and a launch control feature to the coupe, as well as a very powerful V8 engine.
The GT Premium model gets slightly more sport features, such as 19-inch black alloy wheels and a more prominent rear spoiler. The Shelby GT350R has been praised by several 2016 Ford Mustang review as the most powerful and athletic Mustang ever, thanks to its new 5.2-liter V8 engine, TREMEC® 6-speed manual transmission and six piston Brembo® front brake calipers.
Powertrains on the remainder of the trim levels include a 3.7-liter V6, a turbocharged 2.6-liter four and the previously mentioned 5.0-liter V8. Safety features on the pony car include antilock disc brakes, a driver knee airbag, traction and stability control, and front-seat side airbags.
